Just Us & The Mountain | TT 6

A Message from the Tarot:

I feel it’s necessary to note that as I was shuffling, a lot of cards were “jumping” out of the deck. No – not because I’m a terrible shuffler (I’m so-so). The cards were primarily court cards and specifically wands. It feels like the collective energy is restless, passionate, impatient, ready to take mastery over their lives, ready to stir change, complete cycles and take rebirth. Awesome! Because we have work to do.

Justice (reversed)

It seems we are on the edge of Justice (not glory), but we’re not there yet. While the Justice card may speak to harmony, balance, equality, honor and, most importantly, virtue, here we see it in the reverse. Bias, false accusations, intolerance, abuse and dishonesty. Collective! What is going on?

We each create our own reality, but when we look at the one we share, I think we can see all these challenges are present. Where do we find honesty? Where do we look for clarity? Where do we find the perspective that lacks bias? Where the f*** is  our virtue as a society? It seems we are doing everything to negate virtue and replace it with false idols and ignorant, self-grasping agendas.

I believe in Yoshitani’s deck, Justice is illustrated with the Amhaeng-Eosa legend which speaks to incorruptible agents used to secretly inspect government officials. It represents the punishment of the corrupt and promotion of the deserving.

Now, in its reverse, it suggests that our current governing institutions have been corrupted and at this time, justice has not been delivered in any sense. The absolute corruption of some individuals is still hidden and has not come to light. In a broad sense, things are kind of fucked up on a federal and worldwide level.

But that in no way leaves us powerless. Because the outer problems of our world are very much reflective of the work we must do on an inner level. We must look at the corruption in our own lives. And we must understand that two wrongs don’t make a right. We must question what is wrong and do the right thing, even when it’s difficult. And we must call out our own errors, not the mistakes of other people.

For too long it has been far too easy to point to the problem. Unless you’re pointing to a mirror, you should probably just look inward to see where you can find justice and balance within yourself before trying to tackle the rights and wrongs in the world at large. Because many things are out of balance, and many beings are lacking virtue. This includes our own self.

Pay attention to what situations in your daily life tend to throw you off-balance. Discover the conditions under which you find harmony again. Carry this quality with you more and more as you move through your daily activities.

The Mountain

In the archetypal world, the Mountain is both inside and out. It represents the challenges we must face on the outside and the work that takes place on the inside. To think that we accomplish anything without the mind that thinks it can is false. The Mountain calls to the ocean, tells of itself & and the sea. The rising and the falling. And if the mountain is calling, it calls you to discover yourself, find the balance. The up, the down. Learn each crest. What’s above, what’s below? And how do you tackle the mountain’s many paths without the prayer, “Show me the way?”

How can you awaken that which has fallen asleep within yourself? How do you choose the artist’s path and dive into your inner pain with intention to create something – beautiful or ugly? What do you need to purge? What blocks the doorways to the mountain caves? What sediment has built you up and what rains have eroded you away?

The mountain asks you to deflate your sense of self and rise to new heights through a sacrifice of ego. Putting aside fears of how you are perceived or will be perceived, how can you follow the fool’s path? How will you conquer your fears and achieve your passions and dreams? What makes your heart beat faster and when do you come alive? What is the first step on the path to conquering your mountain? And what do you need to put in your rucksack?

Be uplifted, and don’t be daunted. And don’t be afraid to ask for support from friends. You don’t have to climb alone. But you do have to make the choice for yourself first.

The Poet Dreams of the Mountain
by Mary Oliver

Sometimes I grow weary of the days, with all their fits and starts.
I want to climb some old gray mountain, slowly, taking
the rest of my lifetime to do it, resting often, sleeping
under the pines or, above them, on the unclothed rocks.
I want to see how many stars are still in the sky
that we have smothered for years now, a century at least.
I want to look back at everything, forgiving it all,
and peaceful, knowing the last thing there is to know.
All that urgency! Not what the earth is about!
How silent the trees, their poetry being of themselves only.
I want to take slow steps, and think appropriate thoughts.
In ten thousand years, maybe, a piece of the mountain will fall.

Fear & Feels | TT 5

A Message from the Tarot:

November 23, 2021 ~ The Tarot of the Divine

Nine of Swords

Ouch.  Nine of Swords reveals that we may have heeded toxic advice in the past that has brought about a negative consequence. (Where can we see that in the world? 🙄) This has resulted in you punishing yourself. Why did I do that? Why did I listen to that person? Why didn’t I do this instead?

Clarity may be absolutely absent as we relent to cruel questioning of ourselves, our desires, our decisions. We may be filled with regret or a yearning for a different outcome. Your mind feels as foggy as the air in the image of this card. Dark, dank mist swirls around the oracle as she reveals her chilling prophecy.

From this place of doubt comes further indecisiveness. You may feel drawn to two or more different perspectives, choices, or viewpoints. You may be beating yourself for making the “wrong” decision in the past and you’re worried about making another “wrong” decision in the future.

The Tarot of the Divine reveals the legend of Oedipus in the Nine of Swords. In particular, the moment that the king finds out that his son, Oedipus, will one day kill him. In learning this information, the king is tormented and separates himself from his son in hatred. Instead of raising his son with love to prevent such an action, his fear (and resulting actions) creates the truth of the prophecy.

You may feel stricken with anxiety, terror, nightmares, obsession or even sleeplessness. The energy of the world mirrors your internal condition as we continue to bring our greatest fears into reality. Great disease, tragedy, controlling measures, loss of freedoms, and environmental destruction cover our planet. Our fear and anxiety causes us to withdraw, wishing for a different outcome, but only performing actions that increase the damage.

Stop. Breathe. Recovery is possible with acceptance and letting go of our uncontrolled desire for things to be different than they are. With patient acceptance, we can change our fate this moment forward. We can release our fears that the future will be the same as the past – if only we can learn in this moment. Breathe. Be sure, when the time to make the decision has come, you choose out of love and wisdom and never out of fear and hatred.

Journal Questions:

What do you currently regret? What’s replaying in your mind? What do you wish was different? What are you afraid of? What are you actively hating? How can you choose love instead?

What choices are you currently faced with? How do you want to feel in the future? What do you want your life to be like? What fears are you going to release? Can you let go of your desire for a particular outcome? Can you see the best case scenario in all options? How can you believe that everything is working out for your highest good? How can you perceive that things are happening for you and not to you?

You can stop feeling like a victim of circumstances, but it does take some emotional and mental energy to get there. There may be more pain as you close the cycle, but you will open your world to endless possibilities when you have the ability to accept yourself as you are.

Affirmation from Tarot: Mirror of the Soul :

I am loved, simply because I am the way I am.

Gerd Ziegler

A (simple) Message from the Oracle:

The Tear

It’s time to let go. Let go of the pain you’ve been holding onto just to relive the preceding experience. Let go of your fear of vulnerability. Just let go.

Let go physically; let go emotionally. Be vulnerable. Soften the ego. Release the sorrow that no longer serves you. Release what’s keeping you stuck in the energy of hurt.

Stop beating yourself up. Stop blaming others. Just feel.

Did you know that even strong emotions last only 90 seconds on average? In reality, a minute and a half can feel like forever. But once you release your pain and suffering, it’s over. It may come in short waves, so it feels like it’s never ending. But it’s only through feeling and acceptance that we can let go and move on.

Let the melody of melancholy run its course, flowing through you. Resist drowning in the murky drama of story-making. Don’t let the narrative override the feeling. Quiet your mind, feel, cry and let go.

The Sun shines for you | TT 4

A Message from the Tarot:

November 16, 2021 ~ Tarot of the Divine

The Sun

In this deck, Yoshitani illustrates the Sun with the Egyptian Deity, Sun God Ra. He stands in a boat holding a staff; the sun blooms in the sky behind him. A snake, the symbol for transformation, circles its centre. Gulls fly over the trees into the sky. There is an optimistic, hopeful and energetic radiance shining from this card.

Egyptian Sun God Ra proves everything is illuminated with optimism and enthusiasm for the path ahead.

Yoshi Yoshitani, Tarot of the Divine Guidebook

When upright, this card speaks of satisfaction, accomplishment, joy, luck, vitality. What wonderful feelings you must be harbouring at the time you come across this reading! You have let go of doubt and your fear of missing out. You have overcome depression, refusing to see your missed opportunities as failures.

You now have courage to face life as it appears before you, understanding that it is YOU who creates your life. It is your perspective, joy, compassion, the love that you share, that can coax your reality to shift from negative to endlessly positive. Simply by changing your perspective you can see even adverse conditions as the best thing that could possibly happen to you. How can you take advantage of this situation – a small step on the way to achieving your grandest dreams and desires.

This card does not mean you’re going to make millions on the backs of billions of slaves. This card does not speak of taking advantage of living beings or harming others in order to sustain your vitality. This card speaks to harnessing an optimistic internal compass that guides you ever in the direction of your happiness even when enduring hardships.

You can try something new without worrying about looking silly. People’s opinion is no loss or gain to your being. Perhaps you can ask someone out without fear of rejection. Perhaps you can apply for a job without thinking “I need to get this or else.”

The Sun does not change – only the sky does. You cannot control your sky, its clouds, storms, the external appearances you’re facing. But you can control your mindset, attitudes and beliefs so that you can patiently enjoy the journey while you travel to times of ease. Always thinking, I am gaining, never losing.

The Sun card can even represent a feeling of pure ecstasy, creative energy, fulfilled love and happiness. It shines when a person has found their inner light, has discovered a divine wisdom, truth. You no longer rely on someone else to light your fire. You have found the passion within and, you share it with others.

Suggestion:

Visualize the light and warmth of the Sun in your chest and heart. For the next few days, remind yourself several times daily that the sun is shining in and through you.
